Meeting The One - The Only Tamar Braxton
Bria Brown November 2013
Detroit Seafood Market housed the intimate meet and greet for Tamar Braxton. The cover of her second album Love and War graced the walls and tables while the fifth track, ‘All The Way Home’ filled the atmosphere. A crowd under fifty sipped and mingled while waiting for ‘The One’ to arrive. When her white truck pulled up quiet whispers began to grow louder. The Absolute Princess, a radio personality for HOT 107.5 took the mic to announce Tamar Braxton. As Tamar entered the room, the crowd rushed to be closer. To my surprise Tamar was very calm. Before it was time to meet her fans, Tamar thanked HOT 107.5 and Detroit for always showing her love and so on. None of her slang came out until it was time to capture the moments.

As far as creativity is concerned as far as the ideas, the visuals, the videos, I’ve been given a lot of liberty and I work very hard for it. It was great to make this album under the terms where as through I hadn’t been required to make an album, there wasn’t a time limit on how long I had to do it.”

Confidently... P!
Bria Brown August 2014
“I always say to claim big. People tell you to dream big, but I always say if I know if it’s something I want, I can make it happen. I believe that’s what confidence is, it’s just claiming it and believing,” said Paigion Walker a driven TV host and radio personality.
Setting high standards for herself at an early age, Paigion always worked to her full potential and exemplified it being the president of her student government in high school. This position opened up an opportunity with WJLB to be a high school reporter. “Their shows were like one minute long so you’d have to smash all your school activities in there.” Her love for entertainment, allowed her to receive an internship her sophomore year in college with Radio One Detroit where she continued until she graduated from Western Michigan University. “I just kept being persistent and making sure I stayed on top of them and them knowing I was there. Everyone thought I got paid anyway because I was there all day.” Her persistence led her to being “On-Air” on the weekends. Within three months of being a part time radio producer, Paigion was hired as a full time mid day.

The Creative Mind of Kamal Smith
Bria Brown October 2014
Inventive, orginal, experimental and clever; these are some attributes you think of when describing someone that's creative. Being creative is more than having talents such as writing, drawing and designing, but crafting your skills in a way no one has seen before. Marita Cheng once said, "A nation that doesn't create is forced to just consume. And for the nation that does create, the sky is the limit." Kamal Smith, known for his hit plays and now for his television show, 'Because We're Men' on TV20 has not only accepted his creative gene but has constructed it to make him successful.
