Andre Thompson , but soon to be known to the public as Dreé Cashmere is featured in this months Up and Coming. Dreé is an aspiring model who's making the runway his reality. Though his 6'4 stature is stereotyped for a basketball player, he has always had a love for fashion and photography. Some would say breaking into the modeling scene would be easier for males than females, but Dreé wanted to break his own barriers. In his quest to find the ins and outs of modeling and what's to be expected, Dreé noticed for males the runway usually don't care for guys taller than 6'3. Dreé doesn't let his height or stereotypes of others keep him from his aspirations. ''I want to be the voice for all of those people that have dreams but live someone's else's just to make that person happy. At the end of the day, it's your life. Do what will make you happy regardless of the popular opinion. With that said, I will continue to try to become successful in this modeling business so I can make that mark not just for models, but mankind in general!'' - Dreé Cashmere

Up and Coming...

Great things usually start from a form of inspiration. Featured in this month's Up and Coming is 38 OTTO. 38 OTTO is a clothing line whos inspiration comes from Erric Otto-Fitzgerald Sanders. Chelsee Foley the founder and stylista of 38 OTTO loved her uncle Erric. They did everything together. From spontaneous trips renting movies to gas station runs for junk food. Chelsee and her uncle had a bond that was inseparable. Chelsee knew at a young age that she wanted to be a cosmetologist, so her uncle grew out his hair and became a regular client though Chelsee's skills weren't up to par. June 22, 2008 a phone call that Chelsee's uncle died would change her life forever. "After his funeral, I was a mess. I isolated myself from others and I could not control my emotions anymore." Erric had a major impact in her life. In December 2011 Chelsee and her family had to bury her great aunt at the same place her uncle was laid to rest. Arriving at her uncle's resting place all they saw was the number "38". "I was disgusted, so disgusted that I wanted to start this clothing line to honor him and eventually make enough money to buy him a nice headstone." In early 2012 another shocking discovery was made about Chelsee's uncle, he had Pancreatic Cancer. "It was a shock to think this man had cancer, and had the audacity to keep it to himself. If you asked how he was doing, he would say “I can’t complain” in a heartbeat and my uncle always gave me his last because he was always thinking of my first as well as the others in his life." Along with honoring her uncle's life, Chelsee is donating most of the proceeds to pancreatic cancer patients and patients of rare diseases. "38 Otto is to honor those who didn't have a fair chance at life…Starting with Erric Otto-Fitzgerald Sanders."

Do unintentional misfits create masterpieces? That’s proven to be true with the creator of Island of Misfits Khella Young. Like most clothing lines, Island of Misfits was just a dream in early 2012 and became a reality in May 2013. “After seeing some graffiti Chris Brown had drawn, I came up with the name Island of Misfits based off of the cartoon island of misfit toys. Those toys were ones that children didn't want. The main bear looks like he's been through a lot of wear & tear - which fits with the theme of misfit.” All designs from Island of Misfit are freely drawn and are based off life through the eyes of a teenager born in the 90s growing up in the new millennium. This brand displays how misfit and misled teens are simply trying to find a voice. "Island of Misfits was created for the misfit in you. Love it, embrace it & approach it with style," is the mission statement of this brand. With Island of Misfit in your wardrobe, you’ll be sure to accept the misfit and not be misled in the journey of finding a voice.

APR 2014

There's no doubt about it that Moe Ways is focused on his talents and goals. IAmBee had the pleasure of capturing moments during his workout session with personal trainer Fred Jones and interviewing the Up and Coming star. Find out who Ways looks up too, what's impacted his life and a host of other things below. IAmBee looks forward to seeing Ways in the NFL.

IAmBee: Why did you decide to pursue football when you began in basketball?

Ways: Football chose me freshman year. My first year playing football ever. Basketball was my first love but football stole my heart and gave me the best opportunity to stand out and have the opportunity to play college football. It unlocked an untapped hunger and desire that I never knew I had.

IAmBee: Did you choose Michigan or did Michigan choose you? Were there any other universities you were interested in?

Ways: Michigan has always been my dream school. So in a sense we chose each other. They chose me because they gained interest in me and offered me a scholarship and I chose them because I committed and picked them over other schools that wanted me also. I had about 17 BCS (Bowl Championship Series) offers.

IAmBee: What will you major in at Michigan?

Ways: Sports management or business.

IAmBee: If you had the opportunity, would you go to the NFL without graduating from the University of Michigan?

Ways: I'm not sure. The NFL is definitely my main and ultimate goal though.

IAmBee: What athlete do you look up too and why?

Ways: Calvin Johnson. We're similar, we come from close to the same background. He started playing football late and he also played college football in his home town and Georgia Tech. He's an animal on the field because physically he's just more talented than anyone else on the field. He makes the game look so easy and always seems to amaze those who are watching by making an unbelievable play that no one other than him could make. He handles himself off the field also, he doesn't get into trouble and you rarely hear anything negative said about him.

IAmBee: Besides athletes, who else do you look up too?

Ways: My dad. He's taught me how to be a man and take ownership for everything I do. I'm the man I am today all because of him.

IAmBee: What motivates you?

Ways: Doubters. I've been doubted all my life and I've been talked about it. It does nothing but add fuel to my fire. I've always had a chip on my shoulder and I'm sure when I get to college that it'll be more people to prove wrong.

IAmBee: What keeps you focused?

Ways: Success. I have two goals. That's to be the best WR (Wide Receiver) at Michigan and wear that #1 jersey and make it to the NFL. If that doesn't keep you focused then I don't know what will.

IAmBee: What's one quote that's impacted your life thus far?

Ways: It's a bible verse. James 2:20. "Faith without works is dead."

IAmBee: For those that look up to you, what would you say to keep them motivated?

Ways: If you want anything in life you have to go take it! Simple as that. Nothing will be given to you and you have to simply go and take it.

IAmBee: What do you want people to know about Moe Ways?

Ways: I've never been the "top guy" I've always had to work to become the top guy. Everything I've accomplished up to this point in my life is simply because of God and hard work. I've always had doubters and people who didn't believe in me but I never let it discourage me or stop me from accomplishing my goals. I was taught at an early age that I may not always be the most talented but one thing I can control is my work ethic. I'll never let anyone out work me. My faith is so strong and I know without God none of this would be a reality.

Savia Payne, an artistic guru, fashion illustrator and aspiring fashion designer will be making her dreams come true releasing her line later this year. Savia has always drawn and it has been a passion of hers throughout her life.

Savia Payne

Payne's journey began with an Instagram add. The add was in need of an illustrator and wanted interested artists to tag themselves. "I had always done them for myself and thought it would be great to actually get work doing what I love."

Before she knew it, the eager illustrator received an email saying she got the job. "I was really excited." This was just the beginning for Payne and her illustrations.

Payne's creations are flawless. To achieve the finished product, she uses a combination of different things like art markers of different brands. Derwent studio art pencils and Derwent Inktense pencils, precision gel pens and the classic Ticonderoga dixon pencils to name a few. Most people believe that the better the supplies you buy the better the drawings come out, Payne doesn't agree. "It's all about your technique, after you master your technique you'll find your personal favorites to use."

Eventually, Payne would like to run a successful fashion brand while venturing into other aspects she's always been fond of. "Realistically, I know I'll be exactly where God wants me to be. My brand is for all things beauty, which is really art! I love to make things for people who aren't afraid to be exactly who they are."

"My clothes won't be for the superficial fashion people, that constantly put others down based on brand and blindly follow trends," said Payne, "It's for the people that wear what they like and only what they like. They aren't influenced by others and their opinions."

IAmBee had the pleasure of interviewing Loren Entsuah, creator of Arnaqueur Clothing an Up and Coming Warren Buffett in the making. Find out below what this unique clothing line stands for and why he's not only breaking trends, but setting a few of his own. IAmBee looks forward to seeing more from the inspiring creater of Arnaqueur Clothing in the future.

IAmBee: In a world full of designers, why did you decide to start a clothing line and what makes your clothing line unique

AC: It's a world full of designers, but that's all it is. Everyone sees objects, items even interpret colors different. However, I want to place my stamp with the combination of my creativity as well as common divisions that people coming from the same lane as myself can relate to. For me to elaborate on that, I have entitled every piece based on how I was feeling and current events that take place on my life that people could relate to. It's a different twist that I feel not many take advantage of if any.

That's why I have a piece entitled "Guardian Angel" and it has the camo sleeves. This relates to me because of an incident where I was in the heart of Detroit (Joy Road and Evergreen) and I was randomly shot at, therefore I could have almost been killed. The camo was a reference to the a jungle theme. And that ties into Detroit, as being considered a Jungle. The guardian angel name and actual angel on the piece relates to how the bullets missed me. As if I had a guardian angel over me during the time. I want to create pieces that are very deep and only a complex mind would understand.

I'm not into follow trends, I just want to paint experiences through the canvas of fabrics. But as far as me, I decided to do a clothing line because I have a true desire for clothes. When I was younger, maybe around 13 or 14, I begged and begged my mother to let me get a job. One of the conditions was that I had to take 10$ out of every check and save it. I agreed to but it didn't work that way. I actually worked at the movie theater (Star Southfield) and because I was so young, I couldn't work any more that 10 hours a week. So once I finally did get paid, it would be some new shoes or some new Rocawear or LRG clothes that came out. At the time those were the biggest brands.

I can even remember going to Mr. alans and just spending my entire check on Air Force Ones, back then those were the good days. But I've always enjoyed clothes and one day wanted to create my own. I actually shied away from it because everyone has a clothing line. But I know with my creativity and desire it will be placed in a different category from everyone else. It's not who does it first, it's truly who does it right.

IAmBee: Why the name? Does it stand for something?

AC: It's a funny story on how I got the name, I actually was playing NBA 2K when I though of the name. I was playing with Golden State Warriors and they were rebounding every miss and stealing the ball every possession even diving for dead balls. They were playing hard, and "hustling" on every possession! And it clicked, HUSTLE! That's all I do, I am a hustle junky, if that makes sense.

I take on a lot of different endeavors, knowing that it's a lot but I won't care. I dabbled in real estate, I am a licensed barber, I have a career as well as a catering business and I maintain 16 credit hours per semester, so it just made sense with everything I'm into. But of course I couldn't just stop at Hustle, I had to go a little into depth and figure out a way to be different. Because me personally it's the presentation, if someone told me they had a clothing line named hustle, I probably wouldn't entertain it. So I went and found the word hustle but in different origins of language and in French, it's pronounced Arn.oh.koer.

And I ran with it, and Arnaqueur was born.

IAmBee: Where did the inspiration come from to create you line?

AC: I'm not even going to lie, before I started doing the clothing line, my passion was to make money, and take care of everyone who is in relations to myself. And I know that wasn't a good reason to drive myself, because anything based on money won't last long. So I went then started the clothing line, in the meanwhile , I would reflect on the hard days that I had growing up. I could remember moving a lot because of lack of funds, I would take hand me downs from my older brother, and would go days without eating. I definitely had it rough, and that's where my fire came from. Not going back into those days. I could remember eating spaghetti without ground meat, the roll of ground chuck was the difference between gas money for my mom to get to work or a better quality meal.

Seeing my mom almost be 60 years of age still working. A job. That's the real wake up call, when you look at your surroundings and realize that you have to do something to change it or it won't and that's how it's going to end. I just watched everyone around me go through rough things, and I want to create a solution for that. It's funny now that we look back on it because our situation is better than what it was, but it's struggling. Struggling and wanting a legal way out was my motivation. It just so happens to be that my passion is clothing, and fashion so it worked out this way.

IAmBee: Do you see yourself as a future "Diddy" in the making by having a lifestyle brand?

AC: I wouldn't say Diddy because he is more on the music side and Sean John is more of an upscale preppy and sophisticated look. If anything, I would say I would be the next Warren Buffett. He has many endeavors for means of income , as do myself, so if it would be anybody it would be him. I idolize my mentality and have molded my thought process around people who I can relate to such as himself. The power of what reading can do.

IAmBee: What are some up and coming things your fans have to look forward too from your clothing line?

AC: I recently just released a new crop top for the ladies. But, I have four more t-shirts releasing before the fall gets here. They were inspired by the same practice that I have been under, but it's molded differently because I have traveled a lot more so it has given me new inspiration and a new basis to create and design from. I have gotten a lot of new direction from Toronto, CA and Chicago, IL. But I also have some more miscellaneous items releasing too like hats, pins, etc. The fall collection is something to watch for as well. I've got some heat coming.

I want to thank my fans and supporters for supporting the "Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork" piece, including Lil Boosie. Also, I have a commemorative edition of the Virgin Mary coming out. We were featured in the Obvious Magazine so I wanted to do some work with them again. It was a great experience.

NOV 2014

Malinda LeBeau

IAmBee decided to switch things up this October and feature an amazing music artist, Malinda LeBeau who has a new single entitled 'Do You Still...' Find out below what #theWave #thePEN #theSOUND are and take a listen to Do You Still. IAmBee is excited for Malinda LeBeau and looks forward to seeing more from this 'HYBRID' artist in the future.

IAmBee: Who is Malinda? What is something people don't know about you?

LeBeau: Malinda LeBeau is a complete artist in every stretch of the imagination, a super creative individual in the right time and part of the world, yet and still she's a regular girl. Something people may not know about me is that i actually "do" music, singing and becoming " Malinda LeBeau" has not always been a life long goal for me, its more like something that took over me.  Im the owner and operator of  LeBeau Music, LLC a Production/Publishing Co. that offers writing ( writing of lyrics) song-writing ( writing of production) and producing ( tailoring existing work to the *Malinda LeBeau* standard). Although Music is my newest committed passion , its literally my life. I perfect what my ear leads me to, whether that be melody, lyrics, mood or production.

IAmBee: When did you know you wanted to become an artist? Has it always been in the back of your mind or was it something that popped up?

LeBeau: Since I was a little girl I've always known that I wanted to be an artist, fortunately the arts are not limited to just music, so growing up i danced in dance schools all over the city. I sang in church, painted, sketched and participated in theatre. I've known I wanted to be an artist of music since 2011. Music has always been in the back of my mind, I've always sang and been a huge lover of music. Lately it seems to me as I look back my call to music has always rang. I actually met and watched the movie "Dodge Ball" with my biggest inspiration Kanye West in 2003. Without going into too much detail my moment with him ended after he said, "You gotta keep up with the pace, you can't be scared." So yea its just meant to be.

IAmBee: Explain to people what type of music you make? Can you give a genre or is it indescribable?

LeBeau: The type of music I make is something I call " HYBRID R&B" its heavily inspired by R&B but my inspirations span every inch of every genre in music. I listen to everything from Imogen Heap, PARTYNEXTDOOR to Mozart. The only way I could describe my music is "HYBRID" its an infusion of everything I hear and see creatively.

IAmBee: On your Instagram account bio it states: #theWave #thePEN #theSOUND?

LeBeau: #theWAVE is the literally the sound wave of my hybrid music. Sound waves are everywhere influencing everything at all times. Its literally amazing and aesthetically I love the way "waves" look which is why my logo is a sound wave of my name "Malinda LeBeau." That transcends to #thePEN I write all of my music and it comes from the most ernest place in my body and leaves out my hand. #thePEN is everything I give melodically and lyrically to my music. Finally #theSOUND is the icing, these are the production elements I pick and arrange together to bring everything out, its literally #theSOUND.

IAmBee: What can people expect from your EP "Loud Love" and explain the title if possible?

LeBeau: Well its funny in these last few days I've actually decided that I'm not releasing an EP, "Loud Love" will be a concise album that releases Valentines Day 2015. You can expect to fall in love with these records, its mood music, a lot of drums, a lot of beautiful melody and original samples. Loud Love means literally what is says. "Loud" means loud and will always mean loud in whatever way you personally define it without literally giving away its meaning. Music is meant to be heard and is heard "Loud" all over the world. This project is centered around relationships and situations in "Love" which prompts the title "Loud Love."

IAmBee: Will there be any visuals for DYS or any future singles?

LeBeau: Of course! There will be visuals! I have a lot of dope visuals I'm filming now and the coming months for " Do You Still..?" and "Loud Love" expect to see my words very soon!
